Another's Mei Misaki

"In 1972, a popular student in Yomiyama North Middle School's class 3-3 named Misaki passed away during the school year. Since then, the town of Yomiyama has been shrouded by a fearful atmosphere, from the dark secrets hidden deep within.

Twenty-six years later, 15-year-old Kouichi Sakakibara transfers into class 3-3 of Yomiyama North and soon after discovers that a strange, gloomy mood seems to hang over all the students. He also finds himself drawn to the mysterious, eyepatch-wearing student Mei Misaki; however, the rest of the class and the teachers seem to treat her like she doesn't exist. Paying no heed to warnings from everyone including Mei herself, Kouichi begins to get closer not only to her, but also to the truth behind the gruesome phenomenon plaguing class 3-3 of Yomiyama North.

Another follows Kouichi, Mei, and their classmates as they are pulled into the enigma surrounding a series of inevitable, tragic events, but unraveling the horror of Yomiyama may just cost them the ultimate price."

That is the synopsis to the Mystery, Horror, Supernatural, Thriller, School series Another. Another (in Japanese, アナザー) is a 12-episode long anime [that aired January 10th 2012 to March 27th 2012] based upon the novel and manga of the same name by Yukito Ayatsuji. There also exists a live action movie based on the novel. The novel was ranked as the number-three novel by Kono Mystery ga Sugoi! 2010 and 2010 Honkaku Mystery Best 10, annual mystery fiction guide books published in Japan.

So, who is the mysterious, eye-patched girl exactly? Mei Misaki is the female protagonist, labeled by her classmates as 'the one that does not exist'. Mei is a very beautiful young Japanese girl who has short, black, chin-length hair with long bangs, a ghostly complexion and wears the school's standard uniform. Height is 152 cm, weight is unknown. Her left eye is covered by a medical white eye patch. Initially, Mei is a very withdrawn, solitary and antisocial girl who doesn't see value in having a bond with someone. She also claims that, in the end, everyone is alone, no matter how many bonds they may have. However, despite telling Kouichi to stay away from her, as time goes on, she becomes accustomed to his presence and doesn't seem to mind having him around. Although she can be rather creepy at times, Mei is actually a really kind and selfless girl, willing to sacrifice herself for others.

I love this anime because of the horror and many deaths that occur in it so ofcourse I had to write about it and also 'show-off' Mei Misaki, my favourite character in the series. She has an absolutely beautiful and mysterious appearance & personality that really draws me in. I am planning on rewatching the anime when I have got time to experience all the feelings again. Also, even though I am terrible at cosplay, I actually thought about cosplaying her! But that will most likely not happen, it will remain a mere thought, haha. Anyways, if you appreciate supernatural thrillers like me, I totally recommend this series to you! Like mentioned, it is not a long anime either, so you will not have to sit through boring episodes or fillers. Give it a shot!

Bongcheon Dong Ghost

Bongcheon-Dong Ghost is a short, South Korean horror webtoon (a type of digital comic) created by Horang August 23rd 2011. In July 2011, artist Horang published the short webtoon " Ok-su Station Ghost " on Naver Webtoon (a webtoon portal). This webtoon included 3D-like effects, including in a scene in which a ghost´s hand appears to jump out of the screen as if to grab the viewer. Horang followed this webcomic up with "Bongcheon-Dong Ghost" later that month. An English fan translation and video dub were created in August, as the webcomic quickly went viral internationally. Some people also recorded themselves reading the story and putting it up on YouTube for people to see their reactions. If you are too scared to read the story on your own, I recommend searching up PewDiePie's video of reading Bongcheon Dong Ghost. SPOILER. Set in Bongcheon-dong, Seoul, the webcomic shows a student walking home from school late at night meeting a female ghost who wa
