Who is Rilakkuma?
Rilakkuma is a fictional character made by Aki Kondo and is a popular mascot in Japan. Its name, Rilakkuma, means "relax bear" or "bear in relaxed mood" in Japanese: Rilakkuma is an adorable, soft, brown-coloured toy bear who is very lazy and relaxed all the time. True to his name, it enjoys sleeping, watching television and simply laying around. It also likes to eat; favourite foods are dango, custard pudding, pancakes... sweet stuff, basically.
Rilakkuma popped up one day at a woman's apartment and decides to stay there, building a bond and friendship with Kaoru, the female office worker who otherwise lives a ordinary life. Eventually, Korilakkuma (a white bear) and Kiiroitori (a yellow chicken), two other fictional characters, appears and plays a role as Rilakkuma's friends. They begin to live at Kaoru's place as well. If you're interested in seeing all of them in action and living their lives, there's a Netflix series available called "Rilakkuma and Kaoru". It is about to have its second season, called "Rilakkuma's Theme Park Adventure". I recommend it if you are curious about Rilakkuma and its friends or if you want something cute and quick to watch! It's a very innocent series, fit for everyone.
Maybe you will recognize Rilakkuma if you see a picture of the cute bear?
